  • by 3. by 4 - last 2 digits divisible by 4.
  • by 5 - ends in 0 or 5.
  • by 6 - divisible by both 2 and 3.
  • by 7 - difference between 2 times its last digit and number formed by the other digits is exactly divisible by 7. E.g. 336, 6 X 2 = 12, 33-12 = 21; so 336 is divisible by 7.

Read Directions And Examples

  • Always read the directions and examples. Understand them completely before starting the exercises. If there is anything you don't understand, ask the teacher or parent before you start.
  • Watch a video on how to write a book report.

Read The Passage Carefully

  • It is never a good idea to skip the passage even though you may have done the same worksheet before. Read the passage out loud to yourself. If you are in class, read it softly.
  • Underline the words that are new or unfamiliar to you. Look up the words in the dictionary or ask your teacher or parent.

Proofread Your Answers

If the answer does not sound right when read aloud, it probably is not.

  • If the answer does not sound right when read aloud, it probably is not.

Have Parents Grade Homework Packet

  • If your work is graded at home you can catch your errors early, eliminating repeat of the same errors.
  • If corrections are done at home then students can advance faster without the frustration of having to complete corrections at the Center.
  • Unlike math, reading errors can be hard to catch even with an answer key. Don’t be surprised if we find more mistakes at the Center.

Reread A Passage

  • If you have difficulty understanding a passage, try reading it several times.
  • Reading out loud can help you understand better because you are less likely to skim over words and more likely to be sure each sentence is understood by your listener (even if it is your teddy bear)

Time Your Homework

  • Time your homework packets
  • You should have no more than 20 min. of homework per day, including correcting time.
  • If your time is longer than 20 min., we need to adjust your work to help you progress smoothly.
  • Timing your work is part of the Kumon program and ensuring your success.
